Communities across the country protest verdict in Zimmerman trial

"Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago," President Obama said as he addressed the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial. His words put in context the frustration and disappointment expressed at the many rallies and protests that have popped up across the country since early this week.

What would have happened if the Zimmerman trial was in New York?

Relief and anger have been greeting the news that George Zimmerman has been cleared of all charges in the shooting of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman blinked and barely smiled when the verdict was announced last night in Sanford, Florida. This morning, we're asking the question: what would have happened if the trial was here in New York?
