Success in 60 second Tik Toks - The Roundup News

When she was 13, Monique Jones hand-painted a rainbow on her face, took selfies and posted them on social media-proud of the finished product. The next day, students from her middle school bullied her for the post. Seven years later, Jones has become a viral Tik Tok creator with about 540,000 followers and 11 million overall likes.

With sports seasons tentatively scheduled to begin in February 2021, Pierce student-athletes have been gearing up to be able to return to competition. It has been six months since the last time a Pierce sports team has played a game, and players and coaches have been anxious to return.

As courses transitioned online, COVID-19 exposed the digital divide with students who have access to reliable internet and computer access and students who do not. To close this divide, Pierce College offers a program that distributes Lenovo Chromebooks to students who need a reliable laptop to fulfill their online courses.
