I've been a journalist since January 1996. I spent the first seven years of my career working as an investigative reporter for the alt-weekly OCWeekly.com in Southern California. In 2003, I moved to Maui, Hawaii to take over as editor of the alt-weekly MauiTime.com, a job I held for five years. After a brief break in Sacramento, where I worked as an investigative reporter and a freelance reporter, I returned to MauiTime.com in 2011. I've been working as a freelance journalist in Southern California since May 2018.
I published my first pulp noir novel 'Small Island,' which is set on Maui, in 2012 for Event Horizon Press. Since then, Event Horizon Press has published two more of my novels ('The Dead Season' and 'Pau Hana Time') as well as a collection of my journalism ('Stealing Cars With The Pros'). Clive Baker's Encyclopocalypse will soon adapt these books to audio books for Audible. I've also written a couple one-act plays which won awards at the Maui Fringe Festival and the Playbuilders Play Festival on Oahu.
