Andy Jay Bennett is an award-winning editor, freelance writer, playwright and screenwriter. He is currently represented as a screenwriter by CAA and has a screenplay under option by an Academy Award-nominated producer and Emmy Award-winning actor. His plays and short works have been produced at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Chicago Dramatists and The Kennedy Center. He is a former editor of Cabin Life magazine, and his humorous essays about his childhood in Minnesota were featured several times in the pages of Cabin Life, as well as the Duluth News-Tribune, where he was a columnist. Now a full-time freelancer, his humorous personal essays and articles can be found in Lake Superior Magazine, Mpls./St.Paul Magazine and Minnesota Monthly. He is the recipient of a 2012 ARAC/McKnight Artist Fellowship Grant and was a member of the 2012 Loft Literary Mentor Series.
