David Thackham

Passionate. Dedicated. Ready.

Hi, I'm David. I'm the economic development/ government reporter at The Herald in Rock Hill, S.C.

Previously, I covered prep sports with The Times in Gainesville, Ga. I had the thrill of getting to report on 17 competitive high schools in four counties throughout our coverage area.

Prior to moving to Georgia, I enjoyed a selective summer sports internship at the Daily Press in Newport News, Va. I graduated with a degree in mass communication from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. in May 2014.

Back when I was in Rock Hill, I was a news and sports correspondent with newspapers around York County and held over three years of work with Winthrop's student newspaper, The Johnsonian.

I've had the pleasure to work with several newspapers and media outlets, including the Charlotte Observer, the Rock Hill (S.C.) Herald, and Clemson University's IPTAY.

Have a question for me? A story you'd like me to chase?
