Sabrina Layne Garity

Freelance Writer and True Crime Writer

United States of America

Raised in the south by a single mother, Sabrina Layne Garity grew up riding horses and running barefoot through fields. At an early age, she developed a passion for storytelling and writing, which culminated in her first poetry chapbook at age 17. She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington and received a BFA in Creative Writing. After graduating, she moved to New York City and completed her MFA in Creative Non-Fiction at The New School under the study of esteemed writers such as Zia Jaffrey, Robert Polito, and Honor Moore.

Sabrina now lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and is working on her debut memoir, The Blue Graveyard--a true crime story about her family's illustrious history and a reflection on breaking the cycles of violence that preceded her.
