Cooperation In The U.S.-China Race For AI Domination
U.S. and Chinese AI innovators should work more collaboratively on AI development and implementation, for the greater global good.
Rodger is a champion of innovation, and is currently doing so as Senior Counsel, Digital Identity with the Cyber & Intelligent Solutions group at Mastercard.
Rodger spent over a decade as an IP litigator (and ultimately as partner) at the Orrick law firm in New York. He then worked in-house with Canon, advising senior management in Asia and the U.S. on IP protection, licensing, and litigation issues.
To build on this experience and to expand his exposure to emerging tech, Rodger spent three and a half years with VC firm in New York, where he advised North American and Asian AI-focused startups on product and IP development strategies, followed by time in Toronto working with the AI team at BMO Financial Group.
Rodger also helped spearhead launch and growth of the License On Transfer (“LOT”) Network – a fast-growing and global initiative (that includes as members U.S. and Asian AI giants like Amazon.com, Alibaba, Facebook, JD.com, Microsoft, Salesforce.com, Tencent, Tesla, and Uber) aimed at protecting companies from the threat of Patent Troll litigation.
