Richard Alan Hannon is a photographer and nature sound recordist who began his career working for the same newspaper he delivered as a teenager in Mansfield, Ohio. He went on to become a staff photographer for Wyoming’s statewide newspaper, The Casper Star-Tribune, a photo editor at The State in Columbia, South Carolina, and a staff photographer for The Advocate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has driven into quite a few hurricanes, spent many a day and night covering pro and college sports, sat through and enjoyed state government, has been fortunate to cover a myriad of national figures and much more.
Pictures of the Year International awarded him a 1st-place entry for his work during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
One of life's simple pleasures is listening to the wind blowing through the trees. There is no better time to lay down and relax beneath the branches than in the fall, when deciduous trees trade their greenery for vibrant displays of yellow, red and orange.
