Olympia Filippeli

Writer & Editor

United Kingdom

I saw my first ray of light in 1992, when I was given the name Olympia Sophia. I was brought up by a mother, who came from the land of opportunities, where everything comes in abnormally large sizes, the great U.S. of A. My father on the other hand, came from the land of natural simple beauty, where tradition outlives all else— stunning sunny Greece. Since I was a little girl my sole purpose was to provide a new world within the world we live in. Writing and reading are the gates to this new world; literature and books are its evidence. A world where everything is seen differently, where the impossible becomes possible, and imagination has no limitations. I find reading the discovery of one’s soul and writing its therapy.
I hope you enjoy my book and my articles as much as I did creating them.

A glimpse into middle America - The Georgetown Voice

In a small but compelling collection of large-scale landscape paintings, D.C.-born artist Ben Ferry succeeds in capturing the essence of his travels to the American Midwest. His exhibit, Upper Middle, featured in the Walsh Building's Spagnuolo Gallery is relatively small, including only ten paintings, but each of the works is brilliant.
