Mayan Meza Tovar

Mayan has been a student athlete for most of her academic career. Softball gave her the opportunity to attend four different colleges and universities before committing to a career in communications and public relations. Some would say, it was already in her future given both her parents are nationally recognized public relations professionals. However, it is more likely that it was her early years in team sports that influenced her interest in communications.

She developed a passion for communications as a member of the SWOSU junior communications team at the Oklahoma City Public Relations where they won the Oklahoma Speech Theatre Communication Association award for the team’s social media marketing pitch for United Way of Southwest Oklahoma. As an aspiring public relations and communication professional, Mayan brings the industry a strong commitment and the desire to advance the profession. Her career objectives include international travel and incorporating her bilingual skills into her social media assignments. She currently works as a freelance Social Media Consultant.
