Equipment levy passes

The successful vote for the equipment levy is critically important to the school, according to Dr. Mick , president of Kirkwood Community College. Starcevich stated that the levy, which passed on a vote of 58-42 percent, will be important to Kirkwood's many programs. The levy gives Kirkwood just over $1 million for new equipment, according to Starcevich.

Kirkwood enrollment declines

Enrollment at Kirkwood Community College has decreased since last year, according to Kristie Fisher, Vice President of Student Services. Last fall more than 16,600 students were enrolled for college credit hours at Kirkwood, according to Doug Bannon, Dean of Admissions and Student Life.

Laughs, lunacy and Lucas

Comedian Lucas Bohn visited Kirkwood Community College and provided free entertainment for students on Oct. 17 in Cedar Hall. This is not the first time a comedian has come to the college, according to Seth Vander Tuig, associate director of Student Life.
