Lindsey Jordan, better known as Snail Mail, has been very, very busy. Speaking to the teenage star at Matador Records after a sold-out gig at London's Oslo, she's still buzzing, full of energy from the night before. "It was a great night. It was so sick," she enthuses.
"It's about two relationships, I suppose," explains Tom Ogden over the phone. "One that I had written about on our first album and then continued to write about, and then a new relationship, one that's kind of - excuse the pun - blossoming."
Coming to the end of a nearly non-stop series of shows since the release of his debut album, Declan McKenna can now take some time to reflect a little on all that's occurred in 2017.
Marika Hackman sums up 2017 in three words: "A mixed bag". From her standpoint as a musician, she's accomplished a considerable amount. "I've had a record out, got a new band, toured America, played the first shows for this album, so it's been an exciting time."
It's barely been eighteen months since Skott released her triumphant first single 'Porcelain', but now several faultless tracks down the line, it looks as though a debut album is in the works.

Label: Virgin EMI Released: 27th April 2018 Rating: ★★★★ Blossoms fans, please breathe a sigh of relief. 'Cool Like You' is here, and it delivers everything one might want from a second album. Critically, there's a healthy smattering of tracks that - at the bare minimum - equal the anthemic-might of earlier releases, such as 'Charlemagne' and 'Honey Sweet', that appeared on the band's eponymous debut.

Label: Bolero Recordings Released: 13th October 2017 Rating: ★★★ It's apparent from the get-go that Pale Honey had zero reservations when it came to exploring unfamiliarity in the making of their second LP, 'Devotion'. Quite the contrary, the band embraces a full spectrum of sound, characterised by a myriad of electric guitars, percussive synthesisers and catchy basslines.
