My name is Lillian Lorang and I am an Athletic Trainer. I graduated University of Nebraska Omaha in 2016 with my B.S. in Athletic Training. I was a Graduate Assistant at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska and will graduate in May of 2018 with a M.S. in Adult and Organizational Learning. Currently, I am an ATC for Select Physical Therapy in Omaha, NE.
Outside of Athletic Training, I like being active, lifting, spending time with family and friends, and my dogs.
This piece is my thesis I have completed in my graduate work thus far. My thesis looked at the assesment of sports nutrition knowlegde in NAIA athlete at small, Midwestern university and their motivation to engage in a healthy diet.With this study I will be able to provide support for the increase of nutritional education programs at the NAIA level.
This piece was included in my E portfolio because it showed my ability to implement a program. Through this project we had to identify needs, devise a way to solve the need, come up with solutions to problems that we might encounter, and devise a way to assess the effectiveness of the program. I chose to include this piece from AOL 641 because it shed light on my personal teaching philosophy. I felt like this was an important piece to include because my teaching philosophy is carried with me in my everyday encounters. I am not a formal educator, so a lot of my teaching is done informally. Often in situations, I gravitate to the leadership position. That is one of the reasons that I chose to include my Leadership Philosophy from EDU 540. This piece outlines my thoughts on leadership in general, my style of leadership, and how my strengths contribute to that style. This paper also addresses my thoughts on the leader-follower relationship.
I chose to include this assignment because it is a great self-reflection of what learning means to me. Since this degree is about adult learning I felt this was a great way to look at adult learning from an individual level. My general take on learning as adult is whether it be formal or informal learning there is always an opportunity to learn and grow.
This assignment for AOL 544 looked at the impact of diversity in the classroom with race and ethnicity. I felt that this was an important piece to include because the same conclusion drawn from the classroom, can be implemented in the work place. Today, the work place is more diverse than every, so it is important that these issues are addressed for a positive work environment.
