Children of immigrants 'more likely to get a university degree'

Children of immigrants are more likely to get a university degree than those with British parents, according to a global education report. Andreas Schleicher, from the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), said this could be down to "greater levels of motivation" and a realisation that education would enable them to "move up the ladder".

75% of Germans support legalisation of same-sex marriage, survey shows

A huge majority of Germans support same-sex marriage, a new poll has revealed. The poll, conducted for German Sunday newspaper Bild am Sonntag, revealed that 75% of Germans favour full legal equality for gay people in life partnerships. Only 20% of those surveyed opposed same-sex marriage, while 5% had no opinion on the matter.
