Freelance Writer

Canada

I have been writing professionally for the past five years in the outdoor, tech and industrial spheres, and it has felt a lot like climbing a mountain: risky, exhilarating, and deeply rewarding.

Whether it's seeing an article in print, creating an email campaign that helps a client connect with customers, or writing web copy that gets at the heart of a business and the value they provide, I never get tired of the sense of satisfaction that comes with delivering excellent work -- work that makes life easy for my editors and creates value for my clients.

City Creep and the Perfect Outdoor Woman

I spent the first week of college with dirt on my face. I was attending an outdoor education program that offered courses with names like, "Rock Rescue" and "Intro to Whitewater Kayaking." So, during that first week, while my friends who were attending more traditional universities went to frosh parties and began to panic about bell curves, I was on a canoe trip in Ontario's Algonquin Park.

Sweet and simple. This copy was developed for an agency's client -- a Financial Tech startup that needed a website that was fresh and approachable, just like their product.

Trinity Power Rentals

Experienced and dedicated. This client was updating their website to reflect the scope and depth of their service and equipment offerings, and I was thrilled to write the copy.

Tracie Bretecher's approach to her work and life can be summed up in one phrase: "There is no can't." Her accomplishments prove the maxim: Tracie is the first person in Canada to hold a third-level designation from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals, one of only about 160 people worldwide.
