Senior Sociology Organizational Studies Major at UC Davis

United States of America

Hello, my name is Kasey Guevara, and I am a senior majoring in Sociology Organizational Studies at UC Davis. I’m passionate about transitioning into the public relations field after graduation. As of now, my short-term goal is to obtain an entry level public relations positon upon graduating. I know my major will be beneficial in this industry seeing as it revolves around the sociological aspects of how corporations are structured. My knowledge acquired from my studies will be able to help businesses run better platforms that center on issues the public cares about such as corporate social responsibility. In addition to my formal education, my work experience will also be an asset since much of it involved working with a multitude of audiences. For example, over summer I worked as a Student assistant for UC Davis Extension’s International English and Professional Programs. I know PR is important for a business to establish their image to the public, and I eventually want to work in helping them achieve that goal.

Considering that, I thought this infographic would provide a solid base for those who are just starting out in the public relations field or simply want to know how to execute a certain convention of writing.

World Health Day

This ad for World Health Day is effective because I am able to tie pets and health together in a way that makes sense for my desired audience (the potential adopter). The visual part of the Facebook post works in capturing their attention because the dogs really do have expressions on their faces that implies they’re excited. I of course used this to tie into World Heath Day by stating that they’re excited about the health benefits animals can provide. I also used the globe in part of the...

Animal Bio

This is an effective adoption post because it utilizes many of the suggested conventions that animal shelters use when advertising an animal that’s up for adoption. Adoption posts should always contain a photo of the animal which my post does. My post also has the dog looking directly into the camera so that the individual reading this post feels like Ellie is looking right at them. The language used in adoption posts is also supposed to be very upbeat and positive. I achieved this by...
