I am Kelly Guerra. I graduated from Montour High School in June of 2014. I transferred from CCAC to Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA during my junior year of college. I wrote for the Sentry Newspaper, Robert Morris University’s newspaper, for half a year. I was on the honor roll at Montour, part of honors societies at CCAC, and I was the Dean’s List at CCAC for two years and for the previous semester at Robert Morris. I look forward to helping a company succeed and putting my communication, writing, journalism, and design skills to use. In addition, I would like to use my research skills to write papers on medical topics and other information that needs to be brought to the attention of the public.
Langston Hughes, a well-known poet, novelist and story-teller was born on February 1, 1902 in Joplin, Missouri-115 years ago. His father owned a store, and his mother worked as a teacher. Hughes started writing poetry for school assignments and did not want to disappoint his classmates or his teacher.
Many famous authors were born in November, and November is a great month for catching up on your reading. During this month, while you are on holiday break, you will have extra time to read if you would like. One famous author born in November was Samuel Clemens, otherwise known as Mark Twain.
Hundred Acres Manor opened in 2003 and is home to one of Pittsburgh's best haunted houses. Its location is at the site of a former haunted attraction called the Phantom. It has six attractions and two escape rooms. All of the attractions make up the haunted house.
The city of Pittsburgh hosts the 26th annual Irish Festival this weekend, September 9-11, 2016, at the Riverplex. The festival opened on Friday and continues Saturday 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Robinson Township's Annual Autumn Festival was held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 from 12 p.m to 10 p.m at Burkett Sports and Recreation Complex.
