David Beek went through a roller coaster of emotions on the day he turned 27 this past April. From being involved in a car accident, to finding out that that he was selected as one of six individuals from the University of South Carolina to receive a Fulbright Grant, Beek ended the day on top, forgetting all about the downside.

Muralist finds connection between music and art

Bigger than basketball: Gamecocks, Hokies play for hurricane relief

The Gamecocks continued their stretch of preseason exhibition games Sunday, facing Virginia Tech in the "Hoops 4 Hurricane Relief" event that raised funds for those impacted by recent storms. The South Carolina offense struggled throughout the entire exhibition to hit shots, shooting only 34 percent from the field and 21 percent from deep for the game.

Defense delivers complete game against Razorbacks

Fueled by a dominant defensive performance for the ages, the South Carolina football team played its most complete game of the season in a 48-22 blowout win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday. Three touchdowns from the defensive side of the ball blew the doors off this SEC matchup, and with two of these turnovers coming on back-to-back Razorback drives, it happened rather quickly.
