DCU Dóchas Éireann hurler Paudie Foley was named Sports Personality of the Year at the DCU Clubs and Society's ball at the end of March.
Fitzgibbon Cup Quarter-Final DCU Dóchas Éireann 2-19 Dublin Institute of Technology 0-12 Last year's Fitzgibbon Cup finalists' second half dismantling of DIT mirrored the sides meeting at the same stage last year, as DCU outscored DIT by 1-11 to 0-6 in the second half.
DCU Ultimate Men's Frisbee team lost the Men's Intervarsity final to Trinity in the Sports Centre, DCU. The second seeds put on a powerful campaign to make the final, losing out to a Trinity team star studded with Ireland players.
The DCU Ultimate Frisbee team came second in the Men's Developmental Ultimate Frisbee Intervarsity's, a tournament comprising of mainly beginner players, in Belfast this month. The competition rulesets dictate that out of the seven players playing, two must be in second year and five must be in first year.
Sigerson Cup Quarter-Final UCD 2-16 DCU Dóchas Éireann 1-9 UCD stormed away in the second half to beat DCU Dóchas Éireann by ten points on a torrential evening in Belfield. DCU had remained competitive with the reigning champions throughout the first half going in two points down at the break, 1-8 to 1-6.
The DCU Dóchas na hÉireann junior footballers won the Leinster Higher Education final by four points, beating Dundalk Institute of Technology in the final. Kevin McKeon has captained the side to the feat from midfield and admitted that with the team's success comes the pressure for silverware.
With the Ryan Cup well underway and the club season coming to an end for most players, Mayo and DCU footballer Brian Reape is looking to push on with the DCU footballers after "disappointing" seasons the last two years for the Sigerson team.
Carrickmacross handballer Oran Kiernan won the A1 40×20 men's USHA open final for DCU in the American Intervarsities on the 23rd of February. Kiernan got off to a nightmare start in the A1 showpiece, losing the first match by thirteen points to Devon Peters.
After a training session in Perth last November and following Collingwood's Sarah Rowe and The Giant's Cora Staunton, Denise Burtenshaw has been inspired to make the Irish University AFL panel.
