Disappointment for UK players at the FIFA eWorld Cup in London - Esports News UK

There are no British FIFA players in the final day of competition at the FIFA eWorld Cup (today, August 4th). The defending champion, Spencer "Gorilla" Ealing, was halted in the quarter finals by Maltese player Kurt "Kurt0411" Fenech, who said before the tournament that Gorilla wouldn't have been champion last year had he been in the final.

ePremier League hinted in now-deleted line from Wolves' esports announcement

There could be an official esports version of the football Premier League in the works, according to a now-deleted line in an announcement from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves have announced a partnership with Dutch-based esports agency Bundled, who already have some of the top FIFA esports players on their books such as GoalMachine21 and YimmieHD.

Opinion: The Global Series has improved, but could it be better?

The expansion of this season’s FIFA Global Series has seen a massive improvement in how the FIFA esports scene is run. The competitive calendar was relatively sparse in FIFA 18, but for this season they’ve stacked it out with 8 majors, peppered it with smaller Licenced Qualifier Events and eLeagues and then wrap it up with the Playoffs and eWorld Cup Finals at its climax.
