Sub Editing

Receipts of expenditure history are not needed for the new Student Assistance Fund application system, Ciara O'Regan of the Student Support & Development Office said. Confusion arose following an email sent out by the Finance Office on the 5th of November saying, "Due to the large volume of applications we expect to start contacting students in the coming weeks looking for additional data if required".
The College View
DCU's Class Rep Council have voted in favour of changing the election dates for the upcoming Students' Union elections, in order to better suit students who would otherwise be unable to vote. Due to the amalgamation of the St Patrick's Drumcondra and DCU campuses, the elections need to be scheduled to accommodate both equally.
The student accommodation crisis worsens as many find themselves subject to ill-treatment by landlords. A report published in August on rental housing in Ireland by website Daft.ie showed rental prices in North County Dublin have risen by 10.7 per cent in the second quarter of this year.
An estimated 2500 students joined DCU's Enterprise Society this year, an increase of 56 per cent from last year, according to the society chair, Shane Carter. Last year, E-Soc won best society event with Beg Borrow Steal, which set students on a trip to Edinburgh in aid of Donal Walsh's Live Life foundation.

DCU is in the top 15 per cent globally for Bachelor graduation rate, according to the world's largest university ranking survey. The survey U-multirank was set up in 2014 by the European Commission to provide a comprehensive means for students to compare universities with similar courses, or in the same locality.
Several lecturers in DCU have joined more than 100 academics across Ireland in boycotting Israel's academic institutions, according to a letter published in the Irish Times. The letter states the academics will "maintain this position until the state of Israel complies with international law and respects universal principles of human rights."
