Federal inmate #50083-054 was ready to go home. He called his family back in New York to tell them he would be released from Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth in May. He was beyond excited. After 20 years behind bars, he would finally stop being a number and get back his name: Vernon Adderley.

Celebrate Latin Music and Culture at Bushwick Salsa

This weekend, Bushwick residents are invited to ring in the summer at the Avant Gardner's inaugural event for Bushwick Salsa. Bushwick salsa is a free community event organized by Juan Carlos Escobar, the community consultant of Avant Gardner, who partnered up the large-scale venue with the Bushwick community to bring events that represent the neighborhood's rich history.

Burning Man Art Can, 'Mayan Warrior' Makes East Coast Debut at Brooklyn Mirage

Famous Mexican art car, Mayan Warrior, will make its East Coast debut at the Brooklyn Mirage this Saturday bringing the collaborative and electric spirit of Burning Man with it. Since 2011, Mayan Warrior has made its 2,300 mile-trek from Mexico City to Black Rock City to make its annual appearance at Burning Man, making it an iconic fixture.
