A recent article published in DCU's student paper, The College View, exposed the poor living conditions in student accommodation on St Patrick's campus. Despite a significant increase in rent following the incorporation, no improvements have been made. Reporter William Dunne went to St Patrick's accommodation to see the conditions for himself.

A genetic link between motor neuron disease and schizophrenia has been identified, in a study led by Trinity College Dublin researchers. Trinity College Dublin are to redevelop Oisín House on Pearse Street into a 250-bed accommodation project after receiving verbal confirmation from Dublin City Council. DCU students have paid over €50,000 in fines to DCU library in 2016, the highest rate since 2013, according to a Freedom of Information request obtained by The College View. Students paid €54,186.65 in library book fines last year, seeing a rise of €5,000 from the previous year 2015, in which students paid €49,045.41.
