Published: April 6th, 2016 On February 16, the Brooklyn College Student Coalition interrupted a Faculty Council meeting. The students arrived at the meeting to peacefully protest with a list of changes that they felt were needed in order to improve not only Brooklyn College, but all CUNY schools.
In the big, wide world of female beauty, the ever-illusive ideal has always been relatively the same. You all know the look: Tall, thin, white, and if there are curves, they must all be in the "right" places. These have been the qualities most sought after in Western societies since the modern-day fashion industry has existed.
As a child, I never understood the issues surrounding abortion. For me, it seemed simple. If someone becomes pregnant and they don't want to be, they should be able to choose not to be. Choice. A human's body is their own, so it should obviously be their choice that matters most in regards to abortion.
If you were unaware, access to abortion is once again under fire. Abortion became a right for women since the Supreme Court's decision of Roe v. Wade in 1973. A lot has changed for women since the early 1970's.
