Planning for 'Booze Cruise' starts early

In the final few days of the 2018-2019 academic year, the cohort of 2015 and one faculty member will embark on a brief, scenic voyage, puttering along the Sarasota Bay. However, the cohort will face one small problem: the charter boat cannot fit the entire graduating class.

10th annual Sarasota Invitational Regatta held at Nathan Benderson Park

Waves of long, sleek boats glided across the 1,000 meter stretch of water last weekend, from Friday, Feb. 22 to Sunday, Feb. 24.

Those who awaited the monthly art-centric event entered the sprawling courtyard in droves, and whoever arrived within the first hour was greeted by the music of Lemón Royale.

Sarasota celebrates Small Business Saturday

During Thanksgiving, moments of gratitude and family-time are sprinkled in throughout a multiple-day binge of consumerism. Large corporations, through the retail holiday Black Friday, have included a national spending spree within the traditional cornucopia. This post-turkey feast of material gluttony has recently skyrocketed in popularity, resulting in companies extending their sales for up to two weeks as a way to kick off holiday spending.

Facing the reality of the end of dog racing in Florida

Although the dust has settled after another tumultuous midterm election in Florida, the state and its citizens now face the integration of a slew of new constitutional amendments. Out of the 11 measures on the ballot which passed, Amendment 13 addressed the controversial sport of dog racing.

Ghost stories provide the perfect outlet for that feeling, as they allow for the listeners to immerse themselves in the suspense while in the safety of their own comfort blanket.

Alumnae/Alumni Association attempts to improve communication with current students

The Alumnae/Alumni Association is one of the more baffling entities that operates in the swampy marshes of New College. Students never receive any introduction to the group when they arrive for orientation, and in their upper years are often drowning in academics, so they never pay attention to the Association.
