'Drunk people will steal anything,' local bartenders say

Former Ohio University student convicted of rape

A former Ohio University student was found guilty of rape Thursday. After two hours of deliberation, jurors ruled that Notay Jackson, 23, of Chicago, had anally raped a 20-year-old woman on July 28, 2016. During the four-day trial, the prosecution presented DNA evidence and called witnesses including the victim, her friends, police officers and health professionals.

Julie Bishop doesn't meet the stereotype of an orthopedic surgeon. An associate professor of clinical orthopedics at Ohio State University, she is petite at 5-foot-5 and about 120 pounds. But she is also one of several female faculty members at the medical school, which has a higher rate of women than the field at large, making the program almost "gender blind," she said.
