The Zika virus, known to cause a range of health issues, including Microcephaly, has been exploding in the Americas as of late. There have been thousands of reported cases, especially among pregnant mothers and newborn babies. The symptoms of Microcephaly include a smaller head, which leads to underdevelopment of the brain.

Ingenuity at Work showcases the best Mohawk has to offer

The halls of Mohawk College were filled this week as business owners from Hamilton and Burlington, along with representatives from the city of Burlington, toured the campus for Ingenuity at Work. The event promoted partnerships between local businesses, the city of Burlington, and Mohawk College.

Mohawk creating new media accessibility course

A new course is being developed at Mohawk College to help Journalism students create media content that is more accessible. The development of the course, and modifications to the Journalism Lab in the F-wing of the college are being funded by a federal Broadcasting Accessibility Fund.

World Film Festival offers Hamilton a unique experience

Crowds gathered at the Art Gallery of Hamilton Thursday night to get a sneak peak at the lineup of the 7 th Annual World Film Festival. The festival, organized through the AGH, promises this year will be even bigger than before. Ryan Ferguson, the director of the festival, says that this year they will be including new elements.
