For the first time since Hal Newhouser was elected in 1992 a player will enter the Hall of Fame wearing the Old English D. Craft Beer
When we formulate the hall of taps, we run into craft beers that might not be ranked very well, but actually well-liked by people. The most notable reason for this would seem that not everyone uses Untappd to check-in and rate the beers they drink.
Sort of. The Hall of Taps has been around for a couple of years now. I haven't done much with it. I've updated the craft beer rankings to reflect the new Hall Ranking formula (more on that in the next post).
Over the last six months, I have had a chance to update some 250k craft beers into the hall of taps. Yes, 250k beers. Although its a bit deceptive as some of those craft beers are homebrews on Untappd.
Everyone has their favorite beer or even the beer that got them into the craft beer scene. We all have a go-to beer, a beer that you can't be convinced is 'bad' or doesn't 'taste good. The formula doesn't care for your favorite craft beer (it might be in some cases).
In updating the Hall of taps with new craft beer ratings, and starting to clean up the data we realized that the Hall Rating needed an update from the original version. When we came up with the original formula for the Hall of Taps there were beers that had negative hall ratings.
Today is the first official day of the Hall of Taps. Our goal is to determine the best craft brews objectively out there. Craft beer culture is such a cool place to mingle, over a beer you can discuss which brews you think are best.
The hall of taps was meant to be a craft beer hall of fame. With keeping the hall of taps updated, I've done a terrible job of doing so. But, that's hopefully going to change in the coming weeks. Over the past couple weeks I've updated 32,000 craft beers as well as their hall rating.

Whatever thoughts you have about the Detroit Tigers rebuilding, it's hard to argue that a rebuild can't be successful without a strong farm system. The last five years for the Tigers have seen farm system ranked 25th, 22nd, 27th, 28th, 30th, and 26th in the last five years.
As you probably very well know already, Prince passed away earlier today. Many in the world have mourned his death and found a way to pay tribute to the legendary musician. Including, the Fresno Grizzlies who tonight and tomorrow will wear a '98 Remix' Jersey in honor of Prince and Purple Rain.

1 - Orlando Arcia (Milwaukee Brewers) / Preseason Rank: 1 To no surprise, Arcia is still the Milwaukee Brewers top prospect, and after spending most of the season with AAA Colorado Springs was called up to get some exposure in the majors.
Brinson was acquired at the trade deadline, and in his debut with AAA Colorado Springs Brinson went 4-for-4, followed by a grand slam in his second game with the SkySox. In general, Brinson was having a down year in the Rangers farm system, at least compared to the explosion 2015 he had with AAA Round Rock.

It's been a whirlwind of a week for Milwaukee Brewers fans. The cherry on the top of the sundae was MLB.com putting the farm system as the best in all of baseball.
The trade deadline started off with it looking like Jonathan Lucroy was heading to the Tribe for plenty of prospects. Lucroy just needed to waive his no-trade clause, and he would be packing his bags. By the next morning, however, he had vetoed the trade and was staying with the Milwaukee Brewers for the time being.

He's also the first Chicago prospect to be a top ten draft pick since 1989. The Milwaukee Brewers also took a third baseman in the second round. All in all, they had three selections on the first day of the draft.

Before May 10th, there wasn't a worse starting rotation in Major League Baseball than the Milwaukee Brewers. All you had to do was look at the numbers and look at Twitter. There were those who questioned why Wily Peralta was still in the starting rotation.
