NVFS receives 17,397 pounds of food from Wegmans

Northern Virginia Family Service's (NVFS) Hunger Resource Center in Manassas is getting a big donation from Wegmans. According to a release, Wegmans will be donating 17,397 pounds of non-perishable food to NVFS to help provide emergency food assistance to area families.

A Manassas business teacher has been honored with a national education award. Robin Albrecht, who is a teacher at Osbourn High School, was recognized by the National Business Education Association (NBEA) with a Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2016 award.

GMU building to be renamed for retired Senator Colgan

A George Mason University (GMU) building has a new name. Formerly known as the Occoquan Building, located at the GMU Science and Technology campus in Prince William, the building has now been renamed in honor of Charles 'Chuck' Colgan, the recently retire and longest-serving State Senator in Virginia's history, according to a release from State Senator Jeremy McPike.

Prince William supervisors delay county budget discussion

The budget battle in Prince William County continues. Each year the Prince William Board of Supervisors goes through a budget process, with several meetings for public comment, markups, and changes. According to the county code, the board has a legal requirement to approve and adopt a county budget by May 15, but it's looking like there may be some delays.

'Bar J' returns, bringing memories and chili to Occoquan - Potomac Local

Disabled vet could face jail time for painting picnic table - Potomac Local

Jail time for painting a picnic table. That is what 53-year old Woodbridge man Mickey Triplett could face after his court hearing on August 24. Triplett is a disabled Marine veteran and 22-year retired Washington D.C. corrections officer, who was living in the Potomac Ridge Apartments off of Woodmark Drive when the incident took place.
