Sondra L. Shapiro is an award-winning journalist and expert on aging issues. She has been at the helm of Mar-Len Publications, a Massachusetts-based company, since 1980. Mar-Len publishes the Fifty Plus Advocate Newspaper, fiftyplusadvocate.com and the Fifty Plus Resource Guide for Seniors and Caregivers.
She is also the founder of Fiftypluslife, an informational website for millennials and baby boomers.
Shapiro writes travel and lifestyle articles and covers social policy issues. She has appeared on local radio and television programs speaking about aging issues and social policy. She also served as a moderator for one of the 2002 Massachusetts Gubernatorial Debates sponsored by AARP.
Shapiro graduated in 1976 from the University of Massachusetts with bachelor degrees in Business and English.
