A 35-year communication specialist from Texas, Kim is driven by her passion for words and using them to elevate her clients’ businesses. Via print or online, she has been instrumental in implementing and building marketing campaigns in her roles as Public Information Officer & Director of PR and Marketing for Workforce Solutions South Plains Board Administration and Communications Specialist Consultant for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas where she was also a grant coordinator and writer. Kim was drawn to wordsmithing as a child and later obtained degrees in Journalism with a minor in English, Texas Tech, Lubbock, and Radio-TV-Film from University of Texas at Austin. After her childhood career as a “notebook paper and staples novelist,” her professional and mostly freelance career has included writing creative and business articles for various publications and serving as a managing editor, TV news producer, TV anchor and reporter, radio announcer, being awarded the state’s award for Star Breaking News Report of the Year, writing competitive nominations for business partner clients winning numerous local, state and national awards, and developing corporate audio-visual scriptwriting and production for clients including Kodak, Dow Chemical, Bunny-Luv Carrots, Homer Laughlin China Company and others. While words are a passion that drives Kim, she believes helping people to make the world better are the destination. She has contributed countless but happy hours of her time as a community volunteer for various organizations. Most recently, advocating for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities through fundraising, speaking engagements, and her current roles on the advisory board for Texas Tech University’s Burkhart Center for Autism and a board member for The Family Association at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. Kim is also a graduate of the Leadership Lubbock Program where she served as graduation speaker and group leader for a Lubbock Chamber of Commerce feasibility study and presentation to the city. Kim currently resides in Lubbock with her standard poodle who happily allows her husband and teacup Yorkie to live with them. She has lived and worked in several other major metro areas of the Lone Star State and is the mom of three incredible young men.
