Joey DeVito

Assistant Online Editor - Daily Tar Heel

United States of America

I am currently finishing my final semester at UNC-Chapel Hill and will graduate in May with a degree in history and political science. I have been working at the Daily Tar Heel since January, 2014.
I started on the City Desk, covering local issues around Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Stories have included profiles of local businesses, town hall coverage and housing issues.
I have also covered a number of UNC sports, including baseball, women's soccer, women's basketball and a number of others. This has included regular season games, as well as ACC and NCAA tournament games.
In September, 2014 I was hired as the Assistant Online Editor. My job includes tagging stories, writing online headlines, monitoring comments and making sure that our Pacemaker Award-winning website is running smoothly.
