Brianna Kramer

Writing Intern

United States of America

My name is Brianna. I'm 24 years young. I currently teach English at North Charleston High School, where we serve an underprivileged population of students. While I have found teaching to be both challenging and rewarding, I do plan to explore writing as a profession after this school year. I am currently working a writing internship with Campussports.net, which allows me to gain both exposure and experience as I work closely with an editor who publishes my work. I plan to continue to immerse myself into the world of Journalism, so that I can one day obtain my dream job of writing for a newspaper or magazine in a large city.

College professor takes inappropriate comment too far

As an educator, I feel the need to reassure you that most inappropriate comments in the classroom come from the students, and that the incident described below is atypical in a classroom environment. However, despite that my experiences were of the norm, and consisted of students inappropriately complimenting me in odd and somewhat cryptic ways...

Charleston community is changed, but it's not broken

Thursday, I woke up to find my world changed. After spending the previous night watching the sunset at Folly Beach, which is about 10 miles from downtown Charleston, I drove home and went straight to bed, completely unaware of the shootings that had occurred. I woke up Thursday morning to an array of text messages...

Celebrating Dad Bods could be bad for society

While I disfavor Dad Bods because I'm kind of a jerk, others find them displeasing for more logical reasoning. For instance, Jim Grant points out that the Dad Bod represents a guy "who's not scared of a cheat meal, because he eats just about anything and everything."

Have No Fear, the Skin Book Is Here

With a total of 10 tattoos, I'm somewhat of a tattoo junkie. I never feared the pain or permanency, or had issues trusting tattoo artists. I also always viewed tattoos as something special, as mine represent my experiences, my family, my beliefs--or to put it simply--me.
