I was born and raised in the border city El Paso Texas and began my work as a journalist at the University of Texas at El Paso where I earned my bachelor's degree in Organizational and Corporate Communications with a minor in honors and English Rhetoric.
During my time at the UTEP Prospector I moved from News Correspondent to Staff News Reporter, producing roughly three news and entertainment articles a week relevant to the student body. I completed a series detailing El Paso's 2012 congressional election from start to finish, and though I specialize in news articles I have written pieces on a wide variety of topics including entertainment, theater review, politics, economy, activism, and borderland. A piece written about the controversial demolition of the Asarco smokestacks won a state award.
I have been on the forefront of El Paso news for the past four years and I am excited to build on the experience gained at the Prospector in order to continue to serve my community.
