Born and raised in Greenwood, SC, I left my southern town to attend Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA. I developed a strong passion for writing in college, majoring in English with a minor in Creative Writing. During my junior year, I won W&L's distinguished George A. Mahan Award for a short story that I had written, and I knew that I needed to find a career that would allow me to use my passion for communication and writing.

Hope you enjoy my work. I have included a few blog posts and a book review from my internship with Shenandoah, W&L's Literary Review, a fiction story that won W&L's George A. Mahan Award in 2014, a twitter feed of my time as an HGTV intern that W&L used and two published pieces from my internship with TOWN Magazine.
